Next ’18: Sky present their new Analytics solution built in partnership with Datatonic

9th August 2018

The Next 18 event has been a great success for Google,  with more than 23,000 leaders, partners and developers from the Google community and with 105 product and solution launches.

In the spirit of the theme of the conference, Made Here Together, we are honoured to share the keynote by Oliver Tweedie, Director of Data Engineering at Sky UK, about our joint work on the Analytics Platform for Sky Q.

We intend to capture all diagnostic and viewing data in GCP and use it to inform decision-making. Management sees this as the beginning of a new era in data management, analytics and data science.

Making a big impact with our customers is a primary goal for the Datatonic team. We are very proud in having assisted Sky UK in embracing the power of the cloud and the Apache Beam streaming framework, and the creation of one of the most powerful streaming pipelines in Europe, which can successfully handle a stream of more than 300 million messages per day.
