The challenge

AI is rapidly transforming the operations industry, acting as a catalyst for significant improvements in efficiency, productivity, and decision-making.

To fully harness this potential, upskilling employees in AI is becoming increasingly important. This equips them to collaborate effectively with AI tools, understand their capabilities and limitations, and ultimately ensure a smooth and successful integration of AI into operations.

TGSL wanted its employees to better understand how AI can improve efficiency of its internal operations, through use cases such as an AI-automated Accounts Payable solution to accelerate invoice processing and reduce manual effort.

Telia enlisted Datatonic and Google Cloud to design and deliver a week of data + AI upskilling events to empower and enable diverse roles in the organization to innovate, learn, and lead in AI.

Our solution

Working closely with TGSL, Datatonic and Google Cloud designed and delivered a full week of data + AI upskilling and enablement events designed to upskill both technical and non- technical audiences. This included:

• An in-person kickoff day, featuring talks and innovative demos from TGSL senior leadership, Google Cloud Engineers and Datatonic’s experts
• Exploring the Art of the Possible with AI on Google Cloud, industry-specific use cases, lessons from the field and the future of AI at TGSL
• Delivering tailored upskilling classes, targeted at business and technical teams with theoretical and practical learning sessions
• Incorporating industry-specific use case examples to ensure all learnings could be easily applied to roles at TGSL
• A Generative AI Hackathon, providing the learners with the opportunity to get real-world application experience developing a bespoke customer service agent with Vertex AI Agent Builder
• Enabling learners to experiment with Generative AI on Google Cloud and prototype their own Gen AI Agent

This will enable Telia to become a data-driven organization by accelerating and improving decision-making. Its teams will now also be able to experiment with AI on Google Cloud, including Generative AI to further optimize its internal operations.
